It's Wednesday today (almost 3am right now) and it's another brilliant public holiday in Asia. Cause it's Dragonboat festival or whatever. It's the day when people eat rice and other miscellaneous ingredients wrapped in long leaves and tied together with string. I've tried to say it in Chinese a few times but I keep getting it mixed up with the day when people eat moon cakes instead. Wishing people "Happy Moon Festival!" when it's not the freaking moon festival isn't very cool. Anyhow, the important thing is I don't have to wake up early and catch a taxi to the office because I'm too freaking lazy to take the bus. Yeah!
For some weird reason, it's just days away from June yet it's been cold and pouring down with rain these past few days. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining at all. I actually break into cheerful giggles whenever I get a chill from the wind. But you know what? It's freaking weird. I should be self-flagellating from delirium caused by heatstroke already, but instead, I'm so comfy. And so is the rest of Taipei. The air is buzzing around, the atmosphere is getting some exercise and the city is as cool as a cucumber. Oh happy days. How long this will last, I have no idea.
But gosh, it's just days away from June. This time last year I was just getting ready to get on a plane and go to Europe. Spend a little time and see some familiar faces. I was so freaking excited, so overwhelmed with anticipation of all the big changes coming my way that I didn't even get a chance to miss what I was leaving behind. Back then, every day was a countdown to something new. A year later, it's a little bit different. Each day simply brings me one day closer to the weekend...and some much needed sleep.
