Oh my god, what a nice garden right by Michigan Ave. I didn't even know it was here and I doubt I would've ever known about it if Jess and I hadn't been too lazy to go to Oak Park on Sunday morning -- where Frank Lloyd Wright's home and studio are -- and gone on a walking tour of Millenium Park instead. (The park is freaking big -- the tour was two hours!) Anyway, the whole place is really amazing. You go from the garden through to the Frank Gehry "bandstand" outdoor auditorium which seats 11,000 (see photo from previous post) and then you have the Bean and the water fountain with the LED faces. For the record, I think the Frank Gehry bandstand looks like shaved parmesan cheese...
Across the street they're building a new wing of the Art Institute of Chicago, designed by Renzo Piano -- whoever that is. (Janice, what's so special about him?) Oh, and I can't forget the best creme brulee I've ever had. Jess ordered it when we ate at the Park Grill restaurant. Wow. Yum.
So who else is coming to visit soon, huh?
